Location of the hotel
It is in the historic town of Stone Town in Kiponda, yet it is easily accessible by automobile. Cars can drive directly into the parking lot of the “big tree,” a large fig well-known in Stone Town. They then turn right onto the road that runs along the top of the parking lot, drive for about 100 meters, and finally come to a stop directly in front of the hotel main door. Everything in Stone Town is within walking distance from here. Alternatively, taxis are available at the “big tree,” or the hotel may arrange a private vehicle for places outside of town.

Persian rugs, colorful silks, and some wonderful Zanzibar antiquities are used to decorate them. Dunia and Sherali are the two spectacular rooms at the top of the structure, with stunning views of the ancient town. These are two of Stone Town’s most beautiful rooms.
One of the hotel’s drawbacks is that the restaurant is on the ground floor rather than the roof, preventing guests from enjoying the view. However, most visitors to Stone Town choose to eat at other restaurants anyway. Taxis can also drive right up to the front of the home, saving guests the trouble of navigating the tiny, dark streets of Stone Town after a night out on the town.
The lounge
The hotel’s finely carved and studded wooden doors, which open to this tall, narrow edifice encased around a hidden, airy atrium, are reached via royal-red steps. The woodwork finishes, ornate cut-out screens, and cylindrical hanging lanterns all bear witness to Stone Town‘s variegated past. On the ground level, don’t miss the bar, where you may relax on cushioned seats and enjoy cocktails, flavored hookahs, and food. The restaurant serves delectable dishes, while the spa offers Zanzi-style pampering.
The rooms
From the entrance, steep stairs lead to the nine bedrooms, which are spread out over three floors. Each is individually designed, with en-suite bathrooms, air conditioning, and a variety of modern conveniences. Rooms and suites range in size from standard to the Dunia Suite, which includes steps to a rooftop bathtub. The rooms are pleasant and indicative of Stone Town’s multi-cultural influences, but they are not five-star. Its sense of being trapped in time and space is perhaps its most distinguishing feature.
